How Covid-19 Impacted Our Fall Sports

The fall sports season of 2020 is one for the books, but not for reasons you might think. This fall season was cut short, pushed back, and restricted because of the coronavirus. Each sport was affected in one way or another. Fall sports include tennis, golf, football, cross country, and volleyball. For starters, volleyball and football did not have a fall season. Instead, their seasons have been postponed to later dates. Tennis, golf, and cross country are near the end of their seasons but are scheduled to finish without the state finals this year. All sports have had restrictions this year involving the number of spectators allowed at events. Depending on the school, spectators had to stay in their cars for the entire event. Others allowed spectators, but only so many. These are just a few examples of how Covid-19 has impacted the fall sports this year. Could this be an indication of how the rest of the sports seasons will proceed for 2021?
