Congratulations Marching Celtics for 2nd place in class 2A at the Illinois State Marching Band Championships! They’ve made PCHS history for placing at state for the first time, an amazing accomplishment by a dedicated team.

The Providence Catholic Marching Celtics and color guard broke school records left and right this season.  Before state competition, the Marching Celtics Lincoln-way West and Illinois Wesleyan University captured their fourth and fifth consecutive wins of the season. From senior and drum-line captain, Liv Crickman, “I’m so glad that all our hard work has paid off this season. It was incredible to win every competition so far!”

We get a sense of the excitement and pride this year’s Marching Celtics have for their show titled Time After Time.  Along with a quote from our drum major Mia Gleason who said, “The band has been doing amazing things and the section leaders could not be prouder of them. We have put our all into every rehearsal and have pushed ourselves to the limit to get where we are right now. We are making Providence history and we hope to continue doing so.”

The Marching Celtics traveled to the state competition at Illinois State University and Bands of America in St. Louis in the same weekend. Woodwind captain, Alicia Berg says “The band is extremely proud of all we have achieved this season, and we hope to crescendo the excitement into finale at ISU and Bands of America!” The entire band could not agree more. This year’s success has been amazing, and they all look forward to future fun and success at their upcoming events.
