Let’s face it: Mr. Houston is busy. We’ve all seen him in the hallways with his lacrosse ball or at the school doors on High-Five Fridays. Thankfully, we have a new administrator here at Providence to make sure that the school runs smoothly. Her name is Mrs. Toutant, and she is our new assistant principal.
Mrs. Toutant’s job as assistant principal, as she told me in an email interview, is to “work closely with Mr. Houston on curriculum, advanced placement, high school placement exam for incoming freshmen, and more.” Even though this may seem like behind-the-scenes work, she would like everyone to know that she is “very approachable. Please stop and say hi, introduce yourself, and get to know me/let me to get to know you.”
This community-focused attitude makes Mrs. Toutant a perfect fit for Providence, where she loves that “Providence feels like a family already.” Although she is already “getting to know the faculty, staff, and students,” she still hopes to “get to know all of you better!” She shares office space with Mr. Houston and her door is almost always open, so please stop by to meet her!
On behalf of the Proviscope staff, welcome to Providence, Mrs. Toutant!
