Demetria Carbone, also known as Demi, is a junior here at Providence Catholic. She’s been on varsity volleyball since freshman year. The original reason Demi started volleyball was because her parents wanted her to learn spirit and teamwork since she was an only child. Demi started playing volleyball in 7th grade as a setter and is still one to this day. Demi says she owes all her successes to her dad, and he’s been the most influential on her volleyball journey.
Last season, Demi had 387 assists and 126 kills. She’s made 2 IHSA college watch lists. The most important coach to Demi is Amanda Peterson, who now coaches at the Volleyball Institute. All of Demi’s hard work has paid off because now she’s a team player and knows the value of friendship, all because of volleyball.
