From April 10th to the 14th, the Providence Catholic Music department went to Disney World to learn and perform. The band, choir, theatre, and color guard students headed down April 10th and visited every Disney Park throughout their four-day trip. The band performed in Disney Springs on Friday, April 11th and played selections from Star Wars, Wicked, and other popular animated Disney films. Later in the trip, the band had an instrumental workshop where they performed a soundtrack alongside a Disney movie.
The choir, theatre, and color guard students got to do two workshops during their stay. One of them focused on the making of a movie soundtrack and how to record vocals for those soundtracks. The other workshop taught about Broadway performances, and the group got to perform a few songs from Tangled to learn about the performance process. Overall, this Disney trip was a fun and educational opportunity for all of the students who went on it.
