She’s friendly, she’s fun, and she’s ready to share stories and her love of language with the freshmen and sophomores at our school. She’s Ms. Claahsen, and she is one of Providence’s new English teachers.
Ms. Claahsen teaches English 1 and English 2. When I emailed her to ask what she likes most about Providence so far, she responded that she loves “how welcoming everyone has been! Whenever I have needed help, someone has been willing to help me.” Ms. Claahsen will definitely pay forward the help she has received, as she loves to read. Her enthusiasm means her English classes promise to be exciting and enjoyable.
Besides teaching English, Ms. Claahsen likes to hike. She also watches “too many movies and would love to hear more movie suggestions.” So, if anyone has a favorite movie or a favorite set of trails, Ms. Claahsen will definitely want to check it out! Though so far, Ms. Claahsen has not said whether she will continue the tradition of showing her freshman English class Baz Luhrman’s Romeo + Juliet when they learn about Shakespeare…
On behalf of the Proviscope staff, welcome to Providence, Ms. Claahsen!
