TV / Movie Recommendations
October 17, 2022
Trick or Treat! It is October, which means it is also Halloween. As this month is the spookiest season of the year, numerous horror movies and TV shows are coming out. The first recommendation is The Midnight Club by Mike Flanagan, well-known for The Haunting of Hill House. The Midnight Club is a show about teenagers living in an isolated hospital, sharing horror stories every midnight, and experiencing supernatural events as their friendship grows. The second recommendation is a horror movie, Halloween Ends, by David Gordon Green. It is a sequel to Halloween Ends and Halloween, which are movies about Michael Myers’ murder case occurring on the holiday of Halloween. Following its name, “Halloween End,” this movie ends the long story of the tragedy. If you enjoyed or are a fan of those prequels, it would be great to check the end of the story. The third recommendation is another horror movie, Matriarch, by Scott Vickers. This movie is about a woman exploring childhood wounds by returning to her hometown and hoping to heal her wounds. However, the entire town has a dark secret, and she is navigating it. It already came out in 2018, but this October, it will be added to Hulu, so if you are a member of the service, give it a try for psychological horror. If you do not favor any horror or scary genre, the romantic comedy film Rosaline by Karen Maine is one of your choices. Rosaline is a movie based on Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare’s most popular and one of the best plays in the world. It would be great to watch it to spend time without seriousness but with laughing and lovely romance. For the last recommendation, this show is just for you if you are a fan of Supernatural. After running for 15 seasons, Supernatural finally has a spin-off in The Winchesters. Rather than focusing on the original main characters of the previous seasons, The Winchesters is focused on their parents and revealing the truths of the family. Besides these movies and shows, countless films and shows are debuting this October, so it would be great to watch those with your friends and family, eating some popcorn!
