Trixie Tatiana and the Curse of the Sea
Long ago, when the boundary between the human world and the ocean was not yet forbidden, there lived a young mermaid named Trixie Tatiana, daughter of the powerful sea goddess Tuti Tatiana. Deep beneath the waters of the Wigglesburg ocean, in a kingdom of shimmering coral and glowing blue light, Trixie lived a life of beauty and wonder. Yet despite all she had, she longed for something more. She often looked toward the surface, curious about the world her mother had strictly forbidden her to visit.
Tuti Tatiana, ruler of the seas, had always warned her daughter of the dangers above. Humans, she said, were unpredictable, and the surface world would only bring pain. “The ocean is your home, do not trade its safety for curiosity” she would say. But Trixie’s heart was restless, and curiosity slowly overcame obedience.
One evening, when the water glowed gold from the setting sun, Trixie swam to the surface. There, for the first time, she saw the human world. As she rested near the shore, she encountered a young man named Cassian Alexandros, or so she hears. He was kind and gentle unlike the warning her mother had given. They spoke for hours, and soon Trixie found herself returning night after night. What began as curiousity grew into affection and affection into love.
But nothing in the realm of gods remains hidden for long. Tuti Tatiana discovered her daughters secret and was filled with anger. Trixie had disobeyed her and endangered not only herself but the order of the sea. As punishment, the goddess did not act immediately but instead gave her daughter a task.
“You have betrayed my trust,” Tuti Tatiana declared, her voice echoing through the depths of the ocean. “If you wish to remain as you are, you must prove your loyalty. Travel to the darkest depths of the sea and retrieve the purple seahorse that carried the wand of dominion, the source of the oceans of power. Fail and you will suffer the consequences.”
The task was impossible. The depths were cold and filled with unknown dangers. Trixie set out to complete the task, but her thoughts were divided. Swimming through the dark sea, she whispered, “My love, Cassian, what will I do without you.” Her love for the human boy pulled her back into the surface and instead of focusing on the mission, she delayed her journey. She believed she could balance both worlds; that love would somehow protect her from the consequences.
Days passed, and Trixie had not completed her task. When she finally ventured deep into the sea, it was too late. The seahorse could not be found, and her time had run out.
When she returned, Tuti Tatiana stood waiting, her expression firmly. “You have chosen your own path,” the goddess said. “And now you must face it.”
With a wave of her hand, the waters of the Wigglesburg Ocean churned and glowed with divine power. Trixie felt her form change as her tail split and reshaped, her voice fading into silence. In moments she was no longer a mermaid but a dolphin, bound forever to the sea yet unable to return to her former life.
Heartbroken, Trixie swam through the ocean, forever separated from the world she once knew and the love she could never return to. Cassian Alexandros would wait for her, but she would never come again.
It is said that from that day on mermaids were no longer seen by humans. Some believed they vanished into the depths, while others say they were transformed as Trixie was. Even now, dolphins swim near the surface, often close to humans, as if remembering something they can no longer fully understand.
And so, the story remains as a lesson passed down through generations of those who ignore wise guidance, even for love, may lose what they cherish most.
