It was always my dream to write for a school newspaper. I don’t remember how I got this idea, but I’d imagine that at some point I read about a school paper in a book or heard someone in my family bring it up. Either way, I was delighted when I walked into the Providence activities fair freshman year and got the chance to start writing for the Proviscope.
These past four years, I’ve watched the paper grow and change in so many ways. I remember when I first joined, we never even had an in person meeting! Throughout the years, Proviscope had undergone everything from moderator changes to website changes. In fact, this time last year, we barely had any members left in the club after graduation. However, I can confidently say that the Proviscope is set up for success as this year draws to an end. So many skilled writers and photographers joined us this year and brought life to the paper. I’m extremely grateful for everything, from articles and interviews to pictures and ideas, everyone has put into the paper this year.
Proviscope has been a huge part of my time here at Providence, and I’m extremely glad I’ve gotten the chance to be a part of it. Proviscope has given me countless of priceless opportunities and experiences that I wouldn’t have had otherwise. I’d especially like to thank our current moderator Mrs. Harris for all of the support she’s given us these past few years. We never could have done anything without her! I’d also like to thank our other senior writer Sophia Harris for all her hard work the past few years too. She’s been a key part of our paper!
Finally, as I step down from my role as editor, I’d like to thank all of our readers for taking the time to support us by reading our articles. It’s been a pleasure writing for all of you, and I am excited to become a reader of the paper myself and see where the amazing members of the Proviscope take it!
