Summer Fun!

Summer Fun!

Summer Fun

As the weather warms and the days get longer, I’m sure less and less of you are thinking about school. The anticipation for school to be let out for the year is exceptionally high, especially with all the fun school activities such as prom already behind us. Even still, it may seem like the school days drag on forever. Here are some fun summer activities to consider while the last weeks of school slowly crawl by.

To begin, theme parks are opening again! Six Flags is always a great and well-known summer destination. Be sure to pack a lot of water and snacks for the concessions do get pricy. Also, if it rains while you’re there, consider sticking it out instead of leaving right away like most of the crowd. If the rain passes, you’ll most likely enjoy more rides due to the shortened lines.

Secondly, shopping is always a fun thing to do in the summer, especially going to outdoor malls such as the shopping center in Oakbrook. There are many popular stores, such as Kate Spade, Vineyard Vines, and Pink. There is even a Gucci store if you’re feeling really outgoing. My family visits this mall more often in the winter, but going there during the summer is much more enjoyable than enduring the frostbite in the winter. Shopping is always a fun activity.

Lastly, Providence’s spring sports are in full spring now. Track and field, baseball, soccer, and lacrosse are some of the sports active currently. If you have free time, take an afternoon to support your friends if they are competing this spring. I encourage you to attend the girls’ and boys’ lacrosse games. They are always so entertaining to watch, plus the boys are doing well in their season right now with many more wins than losses. Lacrosse is a fast-paced spring sport with action that is never boring. Unfortunately, both teams lack a student section, so I encourage you to go out and support them!

Now that I have gotten your mind off school even more, still be sure to finish the year strong. Summer will feel much more rewarding if you know you did your best.

Those are some of the best ways to have summer fun.
