This month, I decided to interview the choir teacher and director for May We All, Dr. Stacy Eckert.

Q1: How many years have you been at Providence?
A: I started teaching just choir in the fall of 2008.
Q2: What is your favorite production you have ever done/directed?
A: Favorite production is tough! Addams Family, Freaky Friday – all the shows have been great. I think THE HELLO GIRLS holds a special place in my heart. We did that show Spring 2021 in masks with students staged 3 feet apart. The story is so compelling and TRUE! We could only sell tickets to the families of the students involved and we started all rehearsals online. Finally, during Spring Break, we had in person choreo rehearsals in the Music room with the ramp door open, temperatures taken, etc. It was just a phenomenal show with an extremely talented group of students in cast, crew, and pit.
Q3: What is your favorite part about theatre?
A: Favorite part about theatre? I’d say teaching [them] all how to portray emotions and evoke a story that will hopefully transport our audience away from their cares and into our show for a few short hours.
