Last year, the annual Christmas dance, an more informal event held at the school, was cancelled due to lack of attendance. This year, however, an older tradition was brought brought back: the winter formal. This dance, which was for just for the juniors and seniors, was held off campus at CD & Me in Frankfort, and despite the frigid temperatures, everyone came dressed to the nines. Complete with a DJ, the return of the spinning photo booth from homecoming, and food trucks from Joey’s Hot Dogs and the Emerald Coffee Cup, this dance was filled with laughter and fun. Everyone in attendance could be found on the dance floor, jamming out to a variety of music ranging from dance classics like the Cha Cha Slide to oldies like YMCA. There were also plenty of newer hits and belters. The DJ smoothly read the crowd to keep the energy up the entire time while incorporating everyone’s requests. Ultimately, the Mother’s Club outdid themselves with this dance, and everyone walked out with smiles on their faces despite some mild hearing loss from partying so hard.
