Self-care, what is it? It is forgotten constantly in most people’s busy, stressful everyday lives. No one has the time to just enjoy themselves anymore. Constant stressors of school, work, sports, family life, social media, and others constantly take away from “me time”. That’s why, upon first joining this club, I assumed that it would be just another thing that adds to the list of to-dos, maybe a way for me and a couple of friends to bond over “girly things” that we all enjoyed. But after being in the club for over a semester now, I see that it is much more than that. The club still offers those enjoyable, fun ways for girls to express themselves, but also teaches them valuable lessons. This club encourages girls to be the best versions of themselves, teaching them that it’s okay to feel the things they do and there are ways to overcome everyday struggles. This club also teaches young ladies to express themselves freely, allowing them to bond with others over things they may not have expected to. Starting off as a small club, it has now grown to over 15 girls, showing how the club sufficiently keeps students involved and satisfied. Overall, this club has taught many young women how to truly be themselves in everyday life, no matter what discouragement and struggles they face.
