The Celtics put together an incredible run to reach the 2025 IHSA Class 5A State Championship game, earning respect across Illinois. Throughout the playoffs, the Celtics relied on gritty defense, strong leadership, and big performances in key moments. Each round tested the team, but the Celtics continued to respond with calm and confidence under pressure as they worked their way to the state final in Normal.

In the championship game, the Celtics faced St. Francis, one of the top teams in Class 5A. Quarterback Dom Vita 28’ played a major role, using both his arm and his legs to lead the offense. Running back Broden Mackert 27’ powered through defenders and provided steady production, while the offensive line created opportunities all game. On defense, Providence made crucial stops and forced tough plays, keeping the game close until the final moments. Although the Celtics fell just short of a state title, their journey to the championship game showcased the team’s talent, toughness, and heart, making the 2025 season one to remember for the Celtic’s football program.
